The Forex Concern
The underlying concern in any area of financial endeavor, aside from risk, is performance. And, as in many areas of professional services, all performances are not the same.
When a financial product or service successfully performs, it has to overcome certain risks or obstacles in order to satisfactorily reach its goal.
In the final analysis, the success will usually favor the knowledgeable and experienced as opportunity usually favors the prepared individual.
As it relates to Forex Trading, the question must then be asked; "What factors affect the rate of success among traders?" In our relationship with the Traders we've selected, it was learned that their success was in large based upon the following;
- knowledge - in knowing the market intimately well
- experience - in identifying certain trends or positions deemed favorable as well as unfavorable
- patience - the willingness to hold or wait until conditions become more favorable for a successful outcome
- proactive - creating and employing certain methods, or formulas for approaching specific situations and establishing beneficial trade practice protocols
- safety - putting certain measures in place in the unlikely event of a considerable rate change
- assessment - the continuous and ongoing analysis and monitoring of other relevant factors, both near and far, which might affect the outcome of a position
- conservative - taking a conservative approach in leveraging trades, allowing only a small to sometimes moderate gain, while minimizing loss
In the trading industry, these factors would generally fall under the category of "Risk Management". They are designed to ensure the safety of Margins during the process of trading. They are also a blueprint for successful trading.
